What is eDPI?
eDPI (effective dots per inch) folds your whole mouse setup into a single number. It’s the one figure that describes how fast your crosshair actually moves, no matter how you split it between mouse DPI and in-game sensitivity.
That’s why two players can feel identical on completely different settings. A low-sens / high-DPI setup and a high-sens / low-DPI one land on the same eDPI, and the same turning speed:
For example, 0.5 sensitivity at 1600 DPI and 1.0 sensitivity at 800 DPI both equal 800 eDPI.
Because it collapses everything into one comparable figure, eDPI is the standard way players share their settings and match a pro’s aim, without quoting DPI and sensitivity separately every time.

How do I calculate my eDPI?

What is a good eDPI?
It depends heavily on the game, since eDPI only compares within the same title. Valorant players often sit around 200 to 400, while games with a faster base sensitivity run higher. Lower eDPI leans on arm aim, higher leans on wrist. There is no single right number: the best eDPI is the one you can control consistently, so pick it and stick with it.
Is a higher eDPI better?
No. A higher eDPI just turns faster, and a lower one gives more precision. The best eDPI is the one you can aim with reliably, not the highest or the lowest.
Why doesn’t the same eDPI feel the same in another game?
eDPI only compares cleanly within the same game. Each game scales its sensitivity differently, so two settings with the same eDPI in different games can feel very different. To carry your aim between games, use a sensitivity converter instead.
